Applying for marriage license with arrest warrant

I have been having problems getting all my mail and missed a court date regarding child support....now i have an arrest warrant and i'm getting married in a month...my question is if I go for my marriage license will it be issued or will they arrest me on the spot??

Your warrant can get you arrested at any time. You never know. DO something about the warrant. It is doubtful that an attorney can get the warrant vacated for you if there are proofs that you are in arrears.

P.S.: The trouble getting mail excuse, although perfectly valid in some instances, is a tough sell... particularly if you are pro se.

I do not know if an arrest warrant be noted by the person at the municipality when taking the information for a marriage license. Why not call your local municipality and ask if they check for warrants when processing marriage licenses? However, smartest thing to do is take care of the warrant immediately.

I do not believe the two are related except warrants fall when it is most inconvenient such as when you are driving to be married and you are stopped by a policeman on a Friday night or on the weekend. You should have an attorney have your warrant vacated.
