Getting a divorce is easy because one need only state that there are irreconcilable differences which hinder the marital relationship and that there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliatiuon.

Alimony is paid to a dependent spouse, not one who is capable of supporting herself in a reasonable manner. Additionally, the shorter the marriage the shorter the time for paying alimony. Alimony might be required for a year so that she can collect herself. The amount of alimony depends upon the other spouses income.
