I am a bit surprised that you want to become her legal guardian. I was expecting , as I read your question, for you to ask about adopting the child. In any event, to become the child's guardian you must file a petition with the Surrogate's Court.

Call me if you like.

You will need to petition the Court, and ask the Judge to appoint you. You have a couple of different ways to do this, including adoption, or guardianship. Call me, and I will assist you.
