Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My ex husband and I share joint legal custody of our children, ages 8 and 11. However, I have physical custody of them. We were divorced May 2013, 3 years ago. He immediately moved from NJ to FL (6 weeks after the divorce). Our original visitation was every other weekend, one overnight, and 2 weeks in the summer. Once he moved I had it modified to 6 weeks in the summer. He is not allowed to take them any time when they will be missing school. The judge ordered that since he is the one that relocated he revoked any other visitation that would be disruptive to the children's everyday lives.

I have been offered an opportunity within my company to relocate in another state. I would like to know if I am required to get his consent since he has not been a resident of New Jersey in three years. Nothing will change as far as the legal custody. I just don't think i need to "ask" for permission. What am I legally bound by since he is a non custodial parent and only has them 6 weeks out of the year?
