Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

leaving the state???

Hello,

I live here in New Jersey. My ex-wife & I divorced, we have joint custody of two children, ages 3 & 5 and the courts granted me visitation weekly. My ex and her boyfriend are building a home in North Carolina and are planning to take my children and moving there! Can she do that legally????

Can I stop her from taking my kids away from me??

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely Appreciated

You can seek relief from the Court. She will have to demonstrate good faith and necessity and that she is not attempting to deny you visitation.

Your situation is common, and is miserable. it becomes much more difficult to spend time with your kids and have a decent father-child relationship. i can assist you in trying to stop this (very difficult), and in getting you the best visitation possible in the situation (not as difficult) and in trying to put as much of the extra cost of visitation on her as possible (she is moving hundreds of miles away, she is causing the extra cost). let me know if i can assist. 973-890-0400.
