Legal Question in Medical Leave in New Jersey

Intermittent time off under FMLA

My daughter's diagnosis is severe depression and the Drs. have suggested I use FMLA. Can I take intermittent days off or must it be consecutive. How is this affected under the NJ Leave Act recently enacted? Would I be eligible to be paid? Can my employer force me to use sick/vacation/personal time instead of Leave?

Re: Intermittent time off under FMLA

Your employer may require that you first exhaust your sick and vacation time before granting leave under FMLA. Your first step is to asertain your employer's policy and then make or negioate a request for modifications to fit your needs. Best wishes.
