Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

I am on Student Visa from 2 years and if i marry a greencard holder girl, so how long it takes for me to get a greencard? Do i have to wait untill she turns a citizen or i can get it within a year?

Whether or not your green card holding girlfriend/future wife can petition for you will depend upon whether or not you are out of status at the time.
