Legal Question in Insurance Law in New Jersey

Theft of an Automobile

In a recorded statement by an investigator from my insurance company due to the theft of my automobile, due to being nervous and not familiar with the precedures I stated that I was picked up by a co worker at home followed teh theft of my vehicle when in fact my mother was the one who let me borrwo her car for me to get to work. The people in question are very upset at me, I feel very badly about not telling the truth. If I call teh investigator and explain the situation to him, does that affect my claim? Also am I allowed by law to change my statement once I admit to my wrong doing for no other cause but being nervous, and is there any penalties or fees for this?

Sincerely,

I am very thankful for your advice, at this point I am feeling very remorseful and am in tears for the problems I might have caused ... thank you so very much.

An innocent mistake should be no bar to your claim. If you wish to have a consultation to review your claim please call to make an appointment. At the conclusion of the conference a decision can be made as to whether or not I will represent you in this matter.
