if i am employed and get paid in cash, who is responsible for paying the taxes. the employer or [email protected]

You are responsible for paying income taxes. If you make more than $600 in any year, your employer is responsible to report that income to the IRS. If you are an employee and not an independent contractor, your employer must also withhold money from your pay and send it to the IRS. Your employer may be liable for penalties and interest if it does not do this. However, that does not relieve you of the responsibility for payment of the tax.
