Job termination & severance pay

My job was terminated after three and a half years of employment and I didn't receive severance pay. Am I entitled to severance pay and for how long?

There is no law that specifies that a private employer has to pay severence. However, if your company has a severance policy (for example, it may be included in your employment handbook if you have one), then you would be entitled to severance if you meet the requirements of the severance policy. I suggest that you review this issue with an employment attorney.
