Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

I work for a company that is partially state funded (NJ). the company hired a relative of mine to be the office mgr/hr person, the person who had this job prior, was my direct supervisor and had access to all personal info. I was wondering if there are any legal issues regarding this. there are other people who are related who work here but are not permitted to be on the same team or group. no one here has answered my questions or spoken to me about this and wondered if there is something I should know before I try to speak with them. thank you

You really have not asked a legal question per se. There are no legal requirements in play here, it has to do entirely with company policy. If they do not want relatives working closely like as part of the same team, etc. then that is a policy they can implement. I'm not sure what your relative being office manager has to do with it and why you need to speak with anyone about it. So what if they have access to personnel files? I mean, that is their job as an HR exec right?
