Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

I am a renter in a multi unit apartment building in NJ (I have happily lived in these apartments with out incident since 1997). I recently discovered bed bugs in my apartment, I notified the super in the morning after I found them. After a few phone calls between us, he has threatened to sue me stating I brought them in (there are recent multiple vacancies in the complex & my building) and he has also threatened to have all of my friends and families homes checked, to prove I brought them in. He made comments to me over the phone about the company I keep (mind you, the only people in my home is my family & closest friends. Which I am now led to believe that he has a problem with me coming fom an interracial & ethnically diverse family & having racially & ethnically diverse friends) And finally he has threatened to have my 2 dogs put down stating they are as responsible as I am!

I called & set up pest control treatment with Terminix, as I felt he was jerking me around and taking to much time. He then sent a letter stating I could not utilize an outside vendor, so in compliance, I cancelled my appt. his extermination company is due to treat the problem in my apt. & surrounding apt's this coming Friday. My question is, does he have any legal standing for all of his "threats"? I have just re-signed a 2 year lease & I am now stuck here until May 2012. Thank you for your anticipated help. If you feel the issue is really coming from the building you can file a lawsuit and claim state vrs marini. This means the apartment is not habitable.
