Dress Code Policy

Can a company with a business casual dress code for 10+ years, single out 1 department with and give them specific dress code?

Yes. Dress codes are discretionary employment functions unless they are included in an employment contract or collective bargaining agreement. Employers are within their rights to change a dress code and eliminate office casual attire.

That being said, my answer might change if the dress code rose to the level of either ridiculous or degrading.
