Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New Jersey

Laywer made error in business lease. Need contigency

I asked my laywer to negotiate a lease for a business with the sole intent of selling the business. Although the lease is assignable, there is a clause in the lease that no one will assume the lease. I have had 4 full price offers fall trrough because of 1 paragraph in the lease. I have too much money invested in the business to afford a large retainer. I neede to know how to find a lawyer that will handle this on a contingency.

I do not believe you will get a decent lawyer on a contingency basis. What is the lawyer to be paid, a percentage of the sale price?

As to your situation, have you tried negotiating with the landlord to modify the lease and put in a reasonable assignment clause?

You really do need a decent lawyer to assist you.
