I accidentally set fire to an illegal basement apartment in Kenilworth, NJ. The insurance company is trying to sue me for damages. Do they have a case?

Re: Damages to an illegal apartment

I understand that you are saying:

1. You made a mistake and set a building on fire.

2. The insurance company paid to repair the damage you caused, and now they have filed suit against you.

If these things are true, then you clearly know that you have a huge problem, and you may have a huge court judgment entered against you. Then, wage garnishment and seizing your bank account, automobile, other assets.
