It depends on the court. Some judges require you to appear and make tack on additional charges (contempt charges) for you not complying with the original payment order. Other judges allow the court staff to take a full payment and vacate the bench warrant. I would go to the municipal court (call beforehand to make sure what time they take walkins) and try to pay the fine completely and possibly save yourself a court hearing.

Usually a bench warant means the same as your having to post bail in that amount, and then getting a court date to explain to the judge why you failed to make payments. He may also impose a contempt fine for your not paying when you were supposed to. You need to call whichever municipal court you have the warrant out of and ask them if you can just come in and pay the full amount. The best thing is to pay the money before you are picked-up on the warrant. If you are picked up then you will sit in jail until the court is ready to deal with you. Anytime you go into the courthouse or a judicial center it is likely a sheriff will attempt to pick you up. If you have an attorney try to have them contact the judge's chambers and arrange it so you can come in, pay, and have the warrant lifted. Make sure you go to court with a receipt showing you are paid in full. Be ready to explain to the judge why you failed to appear for court. You may be sentenced to some time in jail or may just get a yelling depending on the judge's mood that day.
