Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I was caught driving on a DUI suspended license in NJ. I know there is a ten day mandatory jail term for the first offense, but is there any alternatives to this? I am 8 months pregnant and don't want to go into labor in jail.

Depending on the county where you were stopped there may be a possible alternative that could help you avoid actual jail time. If the sheriff's Department allows for a work release alternative then you may quality for work release as a way to satisfy your jail sentence. Again this is bssed on what you have stated that this is only your first offense for DWS resulting from a conviction for Driving While intoxicated. If it is a second or subsequent offense the penalties are far worse. Please feel free to call (201) 342 5030 or 973 723 8995. I would be happy to discuss the case with you further as you probaby would benefit for the assistance of an attorney
