Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I live in Nj. My drivers license was suspended in N. Carolina for a speeding ticket. I went to N Carolina and proved the speeding ticket was not mine, they threw the ticket out. Came back to Nj, went to DMV, they want me to pay $100.00 to restore my license. Called N Carolina court, they said they can't give me a letter stating my license was suspended in error, that they were not the ones that suspended it. The DMV in N Carolina suspended it. No way to call them. Nj won't throw out the $100 fee

It is virtually impossible to get NJ to waive a fee. Question - It seems to me that you are spending a whole lot of time to save $100. Isn't it really more important to get your drivers license back quickly?
