Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I got a ticket for an unlawful left turn - the intersection was marked "no turns" but I was unfamiliar with the area and didn't notice. Do I have any option except paying the fine and taking the 3 pts? I don't have any other points. Can I try to defend myself, and if so, on what grounds?

You can definately defend yourself and have another option than just paying the ticket. You should definately plead not guilty and request a Court date. If you have a respectable driving record, you should be able to get the ticket reduced to a no point violation. It would be a mistake not to appear in Court and take the opportunity to speak to the prosecutor. I have been handling Municipal Court matters for almost twenty years and would happy to speak to you about your options. My consultations are free so please feel free to call (201)-342-5030
