Do you always have to loose your licence when being pulled over for no insurence on your car?

Not necessarily. A lot depends on which town it happened in. Also, it depends on whether the driver is the owner of the car or whether the car was registered in the State of N.J.. Also important is how soon after you got the ticket you re-insured the car--the sooner the better. It's not so black & white. Contact my office, and I'll tell you if you have a defense. If you are convicted, yes, you will lose it for one year. It is mandatory. Thus, it is a very serious offense as you will only lose your DL for 7 months for a first offense DWI. I suggest you get a good attorney to fight this, since, as the other counsel mentioned, there are defenses that a good atttorney can put up.

If you are convicted of driving with no insurance then you must lose your driver's license for one year.
