Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Our executor/trustee has shown several indications of bad faith. If I hire a lawyer to file a complaint for accounting, how long will it take until the beneficiaries receive the surrogate's report? How long if the accounting includes an audit by the surrogate?

Conservatively this could take several months or more, unless there is prompt compliance by the Executor/Trustee. First there would be a hearing and directions for compliance specified, including the time limit for the accounting to be submitted, then the actual accounting issued and reviewed. Its details might lead to additional questions or requirements if it doesn't meet what has been specified in the Court Order, and this might require additional hearings.
