Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

In the summer of 2010 I was injured on the job and promptly reported it to my supervisor. I was taken of full duty and saw medical attention and physical therapy. Upon completion of physical therapy I went back to work and was released to full duty.

A month had past and I continued to have discomfort in the injured area, I re-opened my claim and got referred to a specialist and through imagining it was confirmed that I needed surgery. I am now post surgery but the physical therapy will last about 5 months and I will not be able to work until it is complete.

My employer and the Insurance company that my employer uses have approved all medical treatment to date without any issues or problems. Yet, many people keep telling me to "get a lawyer".

What can a lawyer do for me since the claims have not been denied? I don't want to strain relations with my employer (10,000+) employees by filing a lawsuit if I don't have to and it won't benefit me. How can an attorney help me in this case?

As a lawyer I can help you get what is known as a permanent disability award. This is a monetary award that you receive if you have a significant injury like the one you describe since the theory is that no matter what, with a serious injury like yours you will never be 100% cured. It does not mean that you will never be able to work again - it is just a monetary award for the injury you suffered. Don't worry about harming your employer. This is just part of doing business since every employer who has operations in New Jersey has to have workers compensation coverage for their employees. The complany, through their insurance carrier, has already spent a lot of money giving you medical coverage and temporary disability payments. Any monetary award will also be paid by the insurance company and not your employer directly. Your friends and family are right when they tell you that you should get a lawyer since I know how to get you the best possible permanent diability award. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.- 908-272-0111
