Legal Question in Technology Law in New Mexico

I recently applied for a local government job. I met all the qualifications for the position, and was neither over or under qualified, yet I did not receive an interview. The position has since been filled by a less qualified candidate. Do I have any legal recourse?
I believe I was not given consideration because of my political affiliations.
