Legal Question

Debt Summons

I recently received a summons to respond in 30 days to a past due credit card company's lawyer. We have been working with a Debt Settlement Company and they are refusing to to acknowledge them. I have some money toward repaying them saved but not enough yet. How can I stall this in some way til I do.
