Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Mexico

I have been summoned to a summary judgement hearing with a lawyer for a creditor. What do I have to do?I have been working with a debt relief agency. They have been working with creditors and trying to get a settlement on all accounts. I have now got an order from a court to attend a summary hearing with one of the lawyers representing a creditor. What do I do?

Attend the hearing, and by all means dump the so-called credit relief agency. All they do is take your money, and no one pays any attention to them. Most of them are scams, and no one should ever sign on with one which charges a fee based on anything other than proven results. If they in fact save you money, a fee is appropriate. Other than that, you are just throwing money at them which you should be throwing at your creditor. The type of hearing you are inquiring about means you have been sued. Better go check out the court file and find out where the case stands. Sounds like you are about to lose.
