Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico

i got into a shouting match with another coach he threatened me and i threatened him we both pressed assault on one another do i need to get an attorney? I went to court and plead not guilty what do i need to do from here?

You can represent yourself (a bad idea) or retain a criminal defense attorney. Either way you will need witnesses to the event to testify on your behalf.
