Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

Ive filed for divorce 20 months ago. My husband is intentionally stalling the process, will not provide discovery documents or show up at mediation meetings. What can I do to get this moving forward and finalized?

You can file a Motion for an Order to Show Cause - which is a request to the Judge to issue an order for hubby to appear in court and explain to the judge why he should not be held in contempt of court for not complying with court orders to provide documents and appear at mediation. Be sure before you do that, that you have fully complied with discovery and mediation and other orders of the court.

Perhaps before you do that, you could find out if he is willing to cooperate in filling out the pro se forms available on-line or at the courthouse. If the divorce is not very complicated, it's not hard to do. If he is just procrastinating, maybe if you called him and offered to fill out the forms for him, he would be willing to sign them. Just a thought.
