Legal Question in Employment Law in New Mexico

A cooperation offers an employee a higher position, when the employee declines the position the co-manager drops the emppoyee from a level 6 to a leval 2 reduces her pay and dropes her from full time to part time is this legal?

NM is a right-to-work state, which means an employer may demote or fire an employee for any reason or no reason at all. The employer may not discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, national origin, etc., but may terminate or demote at will, and the employee has no recourse.
