Validity of Will when moving to another state

I am moving from FL to NM. Is my will still valid or do I need to draw up another one?

Thanks

Re: Validity of Will when moving to another state

If legally valid in Florida, your will is valid in New Mexico. However, after you relocate to New Mexico, you are advised to review your situation, including designation of beneficiaries, location of property, named executor or personal representative, etc. If the will, although legally valid, no longer reflects your intentions and the nature of your property, you should contact a local attorney who can advise you and prepare a new will.

Re: Validity of Will when moving to another state

The only way to confirm whether your Florida Will is valid is for an attorney in NM to review it. I'd be glad to do that, at minimal cost. Just give me a call and we can set an appointment to review your Will and discuss anything else that you may want or need. My # is 505/888-4409.

Your valid Florida will is probably valid in NM.. More important is where your assets will be located. Will you have real property in Florida?
