Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

workplace parking

I work for a public school system in the District Office. the District is large, but our office is small (approximately 25 employees). Our parking lot is often full or overflowing due to visitors/meetings. We do have 2 handicap parking spaces which I'm sure meet all qualifications. I have given a physician's note to my employer requesting, ''a designated handicap parking space'' for myself so I have a reasonable space closer to where I enter the building. My disabilities are physical and I was hired as a handicapped worker. My requests have been denied. Do I have any recourse?

Re: workplace parking

Have you applied for a handicapped license plate or a handicapped parking permit from your local jurisdiction?

This would afford you parking privileges in most "No Parking" zones.
