my bank account was frozen by the infamous Mel S. Harris, a slim bag who buys old debt. If I file Chapter 7 in Buffalo, NY will the courts release it?

Re: bank account was frozen

The simple answer is yes. But bankruptcy should be filed immediately, to protect your rights. After the bank account is frozen, the next step is for Mel S. Harris to have the marshall's/sheriff's take the money out of the account, and later that money is sent to the attorney. If you file immediately, the freeze will be lifted, if you file later, you can force the marshall's/sheriffs to return it to you, but that takes more time. So the faster you act, the faster the money is returned. If you let it linger, it may be more difficult to get it back.
