Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Bill from 3 years ago

I hired a lawyer to help me with a matrimonial case about 4 and 1/2 years ago. Long story short, the case was finally over about 3 years ago. I paid all bills and the chapter was closed. Now 3 years later, my attorney sends me bills - he says he has taken some 'discretionary' credits back. My understanding is he can not change the bill after we had agreed on the bill, charges and paid it in full. I plan to report this guy to the Better Business Bureau and to the BAR. Will talk to them too before I respond to this attorney now. Any help/inputs on this matter would be highly appreciated.

Other than hire an attorney to handle the matter, the best option is probably to contact the New York bar.
