my husband bought a brand new truck in aug 09- he died 3/3/10 everything was in his name only. am i responsible for payments on this. if i stop payts, and let it get repossessed will it ruin my credi

The short answer is no, if you did not cosign for the financing on the truck the, company can repossess the car without it showing up on your credit report.

On a side note, if your husvand had other assets and liabilites, and he didn't appoint an executor in his will, you should seek appointment as the administrator of the estate to resolve those matters. As adminstrator, if you comply with the law, you shouldn't be held responsible for your husband's debts. Instead, you just collect assets of the estate, pay its liabilities, and distribute the balance in accordance with the will or New York's intestate succession laws. You may also be entired to a year's support from the estate.
