Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

so apparently there has been fraud on my account . a detective called me restricted last week stating that i am being charged with grand larceny and i would be found and arrested . i want to go to the bank to file fraud and the precent to file a report but i am scared i will be arrested . what should i do

If you didn't do anything wrong, the person may not be a police officer. I've heard of this fraud before. I hope you didn't give him any person information (account number, date of birth, social security number, etc.).

You can always call the bank to determine if it's a scam. If your account hasn't been closed by the bank, it is unlikely the bank filed charges. I've heard of this scam before by another poster.

If you are concerned, contact a local criminal attorney to act as a go between and obtain information. I would strongly recommend that you don't talk to this person again without an attorney.
