Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

This is my first experience by getting serverd papers. I owe Kay's jewelers and I got Served papers from the sheriff office. Before I got the papers I was already making payments but not much it was a small amount but to me it's Better than nothing because it was already in collections. I told the second party that's an attorney that I will pay the whole balance or maybe do a settlement when my taxes come and the day I got my taxes I came home to papers from the sheriff. Today I looked in my account and seen money on hold and the bank was closed. The amount on hold is double the amount that is owed. What should I do. It's only been a week since I got the papers.

Appears they obtained a judgment against you & now are attempting to collect. Call your bank
