Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I was arrested for pettie larceny. I have been to court twice For this matter. I was offered a plea of a violation and community service. I hired an attorney but I don't think much of him because I believe a purse lic defender may have gotten a better offer. Long story short I did take a 3 pack of dove soap from a family dollar the police later came to my house and arrested me and took me back to Family Dollar to be identified and I was given an appearance ticket. I noticed in the paperwork that the Family Dollar rep wrote that I had taken items that I didn't take and in the police paperwork it stated that I was identified on camera. My questions is although I did take 1 item and not the 9 stated in the paperwork should I consider trail so that the video will prove I didn't take all of the things the Family Dollar rep wrote

It does not matter whether you took one item or all, it is still petit larceny. If a jury were to believe you took any items you would be convicted.

Admitting you took one item will get you convicted. What does the video show?
