Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I was arrested on a search warrant stating I was selling crack cocaine and that I had illegal firearms they search my apartment and found some marijuana I told the officers that I use the marijuana they arrested me my wife and my mother in law stating that I'm selling the marijuana they charged me with possession of marijuana in the third degree and charged my wife and mother in law with the same thing and all three court dates are different I was told that the d.a. wants me to take an a misdemeanor and time served and a forfeiture of my money they took out of my wallet and my wife's purse my wife work she has pay stubs to prove it is not from selling marijuana should I obtain a lawyer to fight for the money?

It is purely an economic decision for you to make.There is a possibility some sort of deal could be negotiated. The search warrant must be carefully reviewed . This may be time consuming & somewhat costly. It is also possible that your plea could result in dismissal of charges against your wife & mother in law. The basic issue is cost to you.
