Misdemeanor Offence in NY

Dear Sirs,

I am a UK citizen living in London. I was arrested in 1993 for a misdemeanor offence, while on a short visit to NY City, for jumping the metro barrier. I had to return to the UK three days later. I widh to return to NY City, for work reasons, and wonder if I will encounter any trouble in doing so. Thank you.

If you were arrested and did not appear in court when you were supposed to then there is a very strong possibility that a warrant has been issued for your arrest. The warrant does not go away over time.

Mr. Hoyt is correct.

What we usually do is settle the matter before you arrive from the UK.

Not only do you have a warrant to worry about, if you are convicted of the misdemeanor, you would have a criminal record, which may bar your entry into this country.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact me.
