Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

next move

Yes, I was inditicted on a robbery 1st class b felony.I didn't know the robbery was taking place until after the fact. I was asked to cooperate and my lawyer never notified me when to go to grand jury to cooperate. I hired a lawyer. What should I do next?

Re: next move

if you have hired an attorney you should.be communicating with that person for specific advice, as opposed to a listserv such as this one... And if there is an issue of communication you should reconsider your choice.

Several factors for you to know. Once a.case has been indicted the DA is severely limited in what they could potentially offer you, on a B felony they can only go as low as a D, for example.

If you are going to cooperate, and the case is already indicted then there would be no grand jury, since the point of the grand jury is to decide whether to indict or not.

If you trust your choice in attorney's sit back and allow them to do their job...

Much luck, and ensure you have good communication all the way through.
