Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

Band Name Usage

The members of the group I am in all met in one place where we lived and played together. We want to use the address of the house 50-6 as the band name. We have secured a rather large record deal and just want to make sure this is legal to do. We no longer live there, but spent 7 years there. Maybe this is a silly question, but I always heard that you can't use anyone's name in a book without permission.

Thanks

Re: Band Name Usage

You can use the phrase "50-6" as a service mark/band name so long as noone else is using it or anything similar that might confuse the public.

You might want to apply for the trademark/service mark for this to protect your right to use it nationwide.
