Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Changing schools

I currently share joint custody with my ex. They kids are with me the majority of the time. I have relocated to a new school district and want to change the kids to that school- my ex is fighting this. What do I need to do?

Re: Changing schools

Although there is an order of joint custody, the order should state who is the residential parent. The residential parent has the choice of schools.

Is the change for your convenience or your children's?
