Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Do you as a client has a right have copies of all documents submitted to the court / your attorney whether on your behalf or just documents that pertain to your case? Does your attorney have the right to withhold anything from you that is in your client folder pertaining directly to your case?

You should discuss this matter with the person who you chose to represent you. If you ask for copies, I'm quite sure she/he will provide you with it. If you want updates on your case, you should ask for it.

If you are unsatified with your attorney, you should think retaining an attorney who will provide you with the information you request.
