Legal Question in Family Law in New York

incorrect ss# on judgment of divorce

I received the signed and filed copy of my judgment of divorce and realized that my social security number is incorrect. Does this invalidate the divorce? Am I still married??? I hope not. If I am, what do I have to do? I was unrepresented thru the divorce that dragged on for 2 years because my ex fought it every step of the way.

Re: incorrect ss# on judgment of divorce

The wrong social security number does not invalidate your divorce. You may, however, want to submit an amended judgment for signature.
