Re: Seperated

If you have not been served with a copy of a Summons and Complaint for divorce, it is very unlikely that you are divorced.

In addition to the County Clerk's office, you can check with the New York State Department of Health. They maintain divorce records. Because all of the different Supreme Courts within the State of New York have concurrent jurisdiction, a divorce action can be commenced in any county in the state even if venue was not proper.

Why don't you ask your wife? She may know the answer and be willing to tell you.

Re: Seperated

IN FLORIDA- The Petition for Dissolution of Marriage (and all other Divorce documents) must be filed in the County where the Husband and Wife resided at last as Husband and Wife. So check with the County Courthouse of the County where you and your Wife lived as Husband and Wife.
