Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York

i may have to go FMLA to care for my Mom who has cancer. By law do I have to use up all my vacation/sick and personal days prior to going on fmla? I'm in NY.

Under the federal FMLA, the employer can require you to use your sick and vacation days before you use FMLA.
