Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

if I have a civil suit pending in a quart. do I have the right can ask the court when my case will be heard.

You can ask, but you might not obtain an answer for several reasons:

(1) your case is in the early stages;

(2) the court load prevents a true estimate;

(3) there are pending motions; or

(4) etc.

I know people want to move forward to trial as fast as possible. However, being patient will definitely be a virtual as courts caseload grow and budgets are cut.
