Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I was wondering if I am able to check the status of a lawsuit against me. I was told I was being served papers weeks ago, then told it was postponed, then told there were papers I needed to sign for a mutual agreement outside of court, which I have never seen. It is a big game to the plaintiff and I want to know where this stands.

The easiest way is to ask the plaintiff where he filed the lawsuit.

If he refuses, start with the courts in the county where you reside.

There are also online services and private investigators who may be able to assist.

Regardless of the outcome of the search, stop listening the plaintiff and get an attorney.
