Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I am a us citizen and I put papers in or my husband who is a illegal immigrant from el Salvador . we are now into a year the case and up to the visa department have to pay a fee to keep processing the case . We are putting a waiver in for him so his sentence isn't up to 10 years instead only 3 months . my question is ,is it really secure to know that he wont be sent for more then 3 months ?or is there a fine that can be paid so he can get his papers here and doesn't have to go back to el Salvador ?

Unfortunately, if he entered illegally, he will need to apply for his immigrant visa at the U.S. Consulate abroad, assuming your provisional waiver is approved.

If you did not use an attorney to prepare & file his case, you might want to consider hiring one to assist you, if you believe there might be a problem with the case, or if something was filed incorrectly.
