Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

�I filled out an I-130 for my husband on oct 15 iam an citizen of the usa and my husband is from the dominican Republic. We recieved the aceptetion letter and also had given an case number already but it been almost 5 month and I havent recieved anything else. .How long do I need to wait to receive something?

If you & your husband are in the United States, then you should have filed the I-130 with the I-485, so he could be interviewed in the U.S.

If your husband is outside the U.S., then he will need to wait until the NVC contacts him regarding filing further documentation for his case at the U.S. Consulate.

If you both are outside the U.S., then you are going to have potential problems, since you need to be domiciled in the U.S. in order to be able to petition him.
