Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Intellectual property laws

Are there any intellectual property lawers who work on a contingency basis rather than an hourly rate in the U.S.? If so who are they and how can I contact them?

It depends on the type of case and the issues involved. Either way there is "list" that exists of such attorneys. This area of law is our specialty, and we do often take cases on contingency, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.

Re: Intellectual property laws

There are lawyers who will take IP litigation cases on contingency fees. If you have a specific matter you'd like to discuss, please feel free to get in touch.

Re: Intellectual property laws

Mr. Browde is correct that some IP litigation attorneys sometimes -- sometimes -- work on a contingency basis. However, if you are trying to initially protect a piece of intellectual property (apply for patent, trademark or copyright protection, for example), you are not likely to find someone to work on contingency.

I do not do contingency work. I am, however, willing to work with a fixed-fee or fee-capped agreement in certain circumstances, even for initial IP protection. You are welcome to contact my office for further details.
